The paper states: "A recent study additionally suggested an anti-fungal immune function for some of the genes (Lys B, C, D, E and CG16756) [Roxström-Lindquist K, Terenius O, Faye I: Parasite-specific immune response in adult Drosophila melanogaster: a genomic study. EMBO Rep 2004, 5(2):207-212.]".

However, we found that instead these were induced by parasites: "For instance, several lysozyme genes, Lys B, C, D, E and CG16756, were induced by Octosporea, which is contrary to the response of the fungal infection, in which lysozyme genes were downregulated" (from the same reference).
