Synteny conservation in the barhl locus. (A) Chromosomal regions carrying barhl in human, zebrafish and medaka were compared and neighbouring genes with conserved synteny identified. Each gene is represented in a different colour as an arrow showing its orientation on the chromosome. Neighbouring genes that are in synteny are shown with a schematic indication of their distance; which is not in scale.
