The log10 transformed betweenness centrality for each reaction (x-axis) is plotted against the estimated selective constraint (ω) for its associated genes. The correlation between these two variables is negative and weak (Pearson's r = -0.222, Spearman's r = -0.279), but highly significant (P < 10-4).
