The species with polymorphic conditions were considered more than once. (a) Total number of sites, (b) number/percentage of sites in chromosomes with distinct morphology: telo/acrocentric (t/a), meta/submetacentric (m/sm); (c) number/percentage of proximal (p), interstitial (i) and terminal (t) sites; (d) distribution of number/percentage of sites in the distinct chromosomal arms: short (S), long (L), and in the centromeric (C) regions. The species Astatotilapia latifasciata and Laetacara dorsigera were excluded due their atypical number of 5S rDNA clusters.
