  1. Numbers in adaptive trait columns refer to the total number of loci found at each level of significance using the G–statistic (p = < 0.01/ p = < 0.05/ p = < 0.1). Adaptive traits used: gill-raker number (GR), linear morphometric PCA scores (LM PC 1, PC 2, PC 3), geometric morphometric PCA scores (GM PC 2), spawning date and spawning depth. n/a = analyses that could not be carried out due to missing data. GM PC 3, PC 4 are not represented as no significant associations were found for these variables.
