Distribution of the four basic sexual systems of embryophytes. The basic sexual system in embryophytes are illustrated namely, monoicy and dioicy in gametophytes (haploid organisms), and monoecy and dioecy in sporophytes (diploid organisms). Triangle width is proportional to species number and absolute species numbers are shown at the tips.
