The tissue distribution of elovl5 transcripts (mRNA) in Northern pike and Atlantic salmon. The relative number of the putative pike elovl5 transcripts obtained by qPCR were normalised by the geometric mean of the relative copy numbers of the reference genes (elf-1Ī± and 18S rRNA). Results are means (Ā± SE) of analysis of three individual pike, and expressed as the percentage relative to the sum of expression across all tissues tested. Normalised expression values of salmon elovl5a and elovl5b reported in [25] were treated in the same way. * P ā‰¤ 0.05 as determined by one-way ANOVA and Tukeyā€™s multiple comparison tests.
