  1. Theoretical combinations of proline (P) and serine (S) at position 106 with phenylalaline (F) and leucine (L) were calculated using the frequency of each amino acid in the total dataset and assuming that the nature of an amino acid at position 106 is not linked to the nature of an amino acid at position 237. These theoretical combinations were compared to the observed combinations in the dataset (A). Linkage disequilibrium between residues at positions 106 and 237 was evaluated using the D’ value, the significance of which was tested with Fisher and Chi-square tests (B).
