Alignment of human DY108 (and flanking sequence) with the orthologous region from the chimpanzee. The consensus sequences for AluY, found in the chimpanzee, and AluYg6 are also shown. For the alignments of the other five previously unreported complete gene conversions see Additional files 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Alignments were performed with ClustalW using default settings, following by manual editing.
