Based on the CA-NC region, classes II and III have counterparts among the Ty3/Gypsy LTR retroelements described in bilateria organisms. Note the particular NC similarity based on the common presence of two CCHC arrays plus an additional trait displaying the trace of a NAN-C-C motif. B) Multiple alignment showing domain similarity between spumaretroviruses (class III) and several Ty3/Gypsy errantiviruses based on gag. Neither errantiviral nor spumaretroviral gags have CCHC arrays at their C-terminus.
