  1. In the first column output bit strings are shown, with mismatched bits as dots (.). As the length of a correct output is the main determinant of an individual's fitness, one can easily differentiate between high and low fitness bites. The second column contains the number of individuals which generated the output. Matching resource rotations (bites) are given in the third column, corresponding to the ecological snapshot in Figure 3A. The upper half of the table contains all bites from the shortest cycle, the lower half contains 'mutant' bites.
