  1. Calculations were based on the frequency of alleles at 10 microsatellite loci in Daphnia host DNA. DNA was extracted from D. galeata representing a random host population sample, i.e., consisting of uninfected and infected individuals originating from three lakes sampled in 2004 (Římov, Vír and Želivka; see Table 1).
