A phylogenetic tree demonstrating the evolutionary relationship among five members of mPR gene families in metazoans. The mPRγ of placozoan and sea anemone were chosen as the out groups. The tree was constructed using the NJ method with 100 bootstraps. Different members of mPR gene family in metazoans are clustered and highlighted with different colors  (pink: mPRα; red: mPRβ; dark blue: mPRδ; blue: mPRγ; light blue: mPRε). The genes identified in lampreys are indicated with orange dots
